2 Nurses Logging into one Computer.

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to describe how to avoid account issues when multiple users are using the same computer.

Explanation of the log in issue:

All DSC applications are web based. This means a web browser is required to log into them (Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge) . When a user logs into DSC through the web browser a cookie is cached, so all actions provider by the user are logged under that specific users account. If multiple tabs are open in the same web browser and there is a different user logged into each tab, the web browser will start to getting confused as to which user is logging information because multiple user cookies are cached. This has started to result in the merging of user IDs in Health Accounting. Luckily, We have been able to resolve all instances where this has happened.

How to prevent this issue:

We understand that in may cases a nurses office only has a single computer but often may have multiple nurses. There are a few ways to prevent accounts from getting crossed.

  • You can log in to DSC from your prefered browser with one user and use a seperate browser for the second user. I.E. log into DSC on Chrome for Nurse 1 and Log into DSC on Microsoft Edge for Nurse 2.
  • Several browsers have an incognito feature. Nurse 1 can log into DSC through the prefered browser. Nurse 2 can log in via the incognito version of the same browser. This is the only time it is possible to use the same browser with 2 accounts logged in. Here is a quick article that explains how to log in to an incognito tab on the Chrome Browser: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

If you cannot log in using a seperate browser or the incognito version of the same browser, please ensure one nurse is completely logged out of DSC before a second nurse logs in.
