Removing Controlled Medication

Removing a Controlled Medication (student detail page)

Purpose: the purpose of this feature, is to allow nurse to remove medication from the Controlled Medication Inventory without marking it as given to the student. There are many reasons you may need to remove medication from the inventory. This feature can be used to zero out medication at the end of the year, to adjust for medication a guardian may need to pick up, or to adjust an error made when initially entering the inventory.

Steps:

1. Navigate to the student detail page

2. Scroll down to the section of the student detail page for Medications.

3. Select the "Add" button next to the medication you would like to edit.

4. On the Adjust inventory page change the "+/-" field to subtract, enter the amount you would like to subtract in the "Amount" field, and any comments you would like to add do describe the reason for the edit in the "Comment" field. Then select the save button.

This will subtract the medication from the controlled medication inventory.

It will also indicate the edit on the "Audit Report" with the comment entered.
